The southeast of Spain is one of the main tourist centres of the Mediterranean and one of the areas most in demand by second-home buyers and investors in Spain.
The global prominence of this area as a tourist, residential & investment destination is easily explained if we consider it has almost 500km of coastline, containing the spectacular coastlines of Alicante & Murcia, full of beautiful white sand beaches, paradise coves and spectacular cliffs. Add the 2,800 hours of sun per year, the average annual temperature of 19ºC and its modern infrastructure and it’s no wonder this jewel of the Mediterranean is so popular.
In the Costa Blanca North and in the south of the Costa Cálida, the topography is more mountainous and the cliffs dominate, the coves and residential areas enjoy wonderful panoramic views. The most well-known city in this area is Benidorm, but the cities of Altea, Villajoyosa, Calpe, Javea, Denia and Mazarrón in the South are also very popular.
On the Costa Blanca South and the most Northern of the Costa Cálida, the landscape is more flat plain, marked by palm orchards and extensive white sand beaches. Its main population centers are Santa Pola, Guardamar, Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa, Los Alcázares and La Manga del Mar Menor.
